Mission Impossible: Mac Book Pro Arrival

Hello oncre more fellow readers. For this post I would like to share something that has really upset me... my Mac Book Pro arrival. I decided to purchase a Mac Book Pro at the beggining of the year, January to be more exact. The reason for my decision is following: I enjoy making and editing videos, and Macs are said to be the best platform for such. Thus, I chose the Mac Book Pro with several video editing videos pre installed in it already. The only problem was whether buying it here or the U.S. Since the Mac prices got recently cheaper here in Brazil, I decided buying it here. So my dad ordered it at April 28th and the site guaranteed it would arrive at my house at 2 weeks max. Guess what? Three weeks have passed and it did not arrive yet. I annoyed my dad a couple of days ago to do something about it and I annoyed him so much, that he called the responsibles and made them deliver it the soonest possible. Naive as I am I really beleived they would bring it onm the the due date. Anyways, I called them the day it should arrive and asked them what the hell was going on. Needless to say, they brought it the next day. Sometimes you need to solve things for your self.

Favorite Post- Cool Way to Look Goatee!!!

Greetings, fellow readers. I've been observing some of those cool wise guys from movies. Look at the pictures at this post to have an idea of what I am talking about. Well, all of them possess a goatee. Now, there is a major understanding on the meaning of a goatie. According to dictionaries, a goatee is: a small pointed or tufted beard on a man's chin. When people read small they believe it is actually small in length and then consider the wise man's goatee( a facial hair style) a beard! Can you beleive it?! It is absurd. A goatee is a gift only the wise possess. Goatees may be long in length, not in width. Pedro and I came to the conclusion that men of goatees are chancellours and the best advisors to those who seek help from itellectuals. If you have any issue, all you need to do is find one of these man(like seen in the pictures) and ask for their help. Do not be afraid if they take a long time to respond, for they are men deep in thought where any missued word may lead to a misapprehension. They can be found anywhere, such as the streets, fields, mountains, plains,etc. Another thing we found out, is that the wiser you are the longer your goatee. Pedro and I are still seeking wisdom and experience, for now our goatees are almost invisible to the eye. Anyways, you may find us during a day after school observing the view from the bar while scratching our little goatees. That is one more characteristic from the wise. While they sit deep in thought looking to the distant horizon, they scratch their goatees. I wish someday I can have such a gift.

Movie Everyone should watch: Iron Man 2

Sup guys! I got a new movie recommendation, Iron Man 2. For those who enjoyed Iron Man, I guarantee you that the second movie stands, if not, surpasses the previous movie's quality/standards. Needless to mention, Robert Downey Jr. had another excellent performance, with that rich playboy her o way of his. He certainly brings the touch the movie needed to become succesfull however, there is another attraction this time... Scarlett Johansson. This very attractive lady brings a lot of attention, maybe only for the male audience, but still, lots of attention.

Well, in this movie Tony Stark ( Robert Downey Jr.) has to mature a bit and welcome help from others, as well as understanding others can harm him. At the beggining his arrogance prevented him from seeing the danger he could get in. Additionally, he has to find another element which can substitute paladium the only element which can keep his "heart battery" functioning; however, what keeps him alive is also killing him. Since he is constantly wearing the Iron Man armor, his blood is getting quite intoxicated with paladium, which in turn is killing him. Thus he must find another resource to keep him alive and at the same time handle powerful vilains and powerful political dogs who are trying to explore his resources. I won't tell more or else the fun will be over, so just watch it and have a good time!

FIFA Wolrd Cup Official Licensed Sticker Album

Finally, the FIFA World Cup album was released! It has been a big hit here in Brazil since 2002, all manufactured under license by PANINI. I personally love the album because I'm a big fan of the World Cup and always enjoy my self watching it. I cheer and cry for Brazil( my nation) while it battles lion-heartedly to bring the World Cup home, as many Brazilians and people from other nations do as well. Football is the most famous sport in the world and its home is Brazil, that is probably why the FIFA World Cup album was a big hit here. The album costs R$3,90 and each envelope( comes with5 stickers) costs R$0,75. At the last World Cup(2006) its gains were estimated around R$ 75,000,000, (10,000,000 envelopes)and were only surpassed by Germany, whihc housed the event.
The reason it makes so much success in my opinion is because of the magic in football. Even those who don't like football are overwhlemed by it during the World Cup and cannot resist watching their nations' match. These phenomenon( if I can call it that way) can occur by two reasons, 1) The person really gets in the mood by the excitement around him, or 2) He/she feels left out since 99% of the people are watching. Thus, I have a theory that the same happens with the album. I saw many people who do not present interest for football, collecting the stickers for their albums. It is a funny thing.

Which is better for Sao Paulo to Rio trips, Car or Plane?

This weekend I had a bad experience. My family traveled to Rio and we went by Plane. My dad and I wanted to travel by car but my mom hates it, so what could we do, women always win...(unfortunately) Anyways, the expected was that the trip would be faster and less frustrating since plane trips are much faster. The estimated time from Rio to São Paulo, vice versa, by plane varies from 30-45 min, while car trips usualy take 4- 5 hours. However, it turns out we were wrong on our theory. Car trips are less frustrating and faster than plane trips form Rio to São Paulo. First of all, when travelling by car the family decides the time to leave and feels free to change it if needed. In the other hand plane trips have specific times and if you get late you lose the flight wiht no refunds. Secondly, one must arrive onne hour before the flight in the airport to guarantee he/she is on time. There are several things one must do before actaully getting inside the plane( Check in, bag departure,etc), so getting a hour before is quite necessary. Even though every precaution may be taken, it is impossible to avoid airline companies' mistakes. Flights are delayed and departure gates keep changing which can stress even the most devote followers of Ghandi's. To make a long story short, the plane trip back to São Paulo took 5 hours. Now if we knew that we obviously would've come and gone by car and saved a lot of money.

Chatroulette experience

Hey guys! Last week Kevin my self, and Filipe(mickey) decided to check chatroulette out. We figured out that overall it is a very fun experience. However, I strongly suggest anyone willing to check it out to call a friend or two to go with you. The reason that having friends with you is intresting, is that it calls more attention and makes the whole thing more enjoyable. People who are alone just seem more boring and people tend to "next" them. Additionaly, with friends beside you, laughs are guaranteed and you won't feel sad if someone skips you. There are lots of innapropriate content in it, but with friends beside you the shock is quickly releived. Nevertheless, there are lots of good intentioned people, whom one could have good chats with. Our longer talks included Bentley students, a funny american called Eduard, some German, and even Brazilians. Free of braces

A few days ago,my dentist removed my braces. I got to say its a new life without it. First of all, eating is an easy thing now. While I had my braces,I had to constantly check and clean it in order to avoid public embaressment. Nobody likes having leftovers in their mouths right? Secondly, I don't have to lose my time going to the dentist once evey two weeks. Most students in CHaple have a busy agenda and having a free day is awesome for starting new activities or having more time with school work. Thirdly, brushing my teeths is easier and safer now. With braces, brushing your teeeth is an art. You have to follow multiple steps and have other utensils besides the common toothbrush. Additionally, I don't have as much injuries now. When I brushed my teeth with braces, several times I cut my mout with a loose piece of metal or by breaking something in the braces. Finally, you have a better look! People who take their braces out have a perfect and new set of teeth. It is awesome.

Family Guy Character of the Week- Joe

Once more I will dedicate a week post to a Family Guy character. Joe is a paraplegic man and one of the Peter's best friends. He plays an important role by being one of the 4 friends in Peter's group (Quagmire, Cleveland, Joe, and Peter). I beleive the series uses Joe as another comic releif to paraplegic people. A funny aspect about Joe is that he is really atheletic and has a jock like personality, unlike his three other friends who are really lazy. He is also a police officer and sometimes has to arrest a known person. WHat calls my attention to his character though is his sudden out burst of energy such as his known shout, "YEAH!!!!" Marsh Periwinkle Succesfull once more

Well, how could I start. Marsh Periwinkle is a group originally formed by Santiago, Daniel, and my self. We make videos/movies for any class subject we are assigned to do a video for. Beleive or not, but our lowest grade was a 96(A).Nevertheless, let me explain how it started. It all began in the Integrated Science class with Mr. James ( most known as Mr. J or Mr. J.J). We were assigned a project to describe any animal we chose thoroughly. I always enjoyed asking random questions about gastropods( a funny name I found on the book). Thus, I decided doing the project on a gastropod. However, I soon realized gastropod is not an animal, but a species classification. So, what I did was look for a specific gastropod. It was then, then that I saw the future legend's name: Marsh Periwinkle. I thought the name was so funny, that I couldn't stop saying it randomly( I still do today ask any one who knows me). Then, we had this portuguese and religion project and we just used MArsh PEriwinkle as the name of the group. David was with us in the beggining, but the traitor left... Its a shame, but we had other members to call such as Caio. He participated in two of our Morality projects until eh betrayed us to the Iguana Productions ( a concorrente). I was part of it to, when we created it, Lucas and myself. However, I wanted to start one of our own. Both MArsh Periwinkle and Iguana Productions share a mammoth respect for each other and we hope of joining both some day in the Komodo Dragons Prodcution. But its still in development. Any ways, after Caio closed doors with us, we called two new members. Sebastian which was always an assitant of Marsh Periwinkle and Andre who volunteered. Both did an amazing job. The trouble was Mr. Murphy only allowed 4 in a group but we convinced him to have 5. Anyhow, we did the project and it was amazing. As we expected we got a 100( A+).

Well deserved Oscar to Christoph Waltz

Hey guys! As I watched Inglourious Basterds, I was stupefied by Christoph Waltz's performance. Amazingly, he spoke four distinct languages fluently in the movie, French, German, English, and Italian. I had no knowledge of his existence before watching the movie, and I can't beleive it, because it seems impossible having such an actor pass by unnknnown. Nevertheless, I was eagerly awaiting the oscar ceremony, hoping Waltz would win an Oscar for best Actor in Supporting Role. When I found out he'd already been nominated I just knew he would win the Oscar. Little are those actors who can incorporate a character so well. As matter of fact, I only know a few. Al Pacino( Scent of a Women ), Robert Downey Junior( Tropic Thunder), Matt Damon( Bourne Triology), and Marlon Brando ( God Father). Interesting Invention World's First Flying Car

Some people prefer traveling by plane. Others prefer traveling by car. Why not travel in a car plane then? Yes, it is true, the first flying automobile is in its final test phase. When it is over, people may enjoy a family car trip without worrying about traffic. It functions as a car in the road but if one wishes to take off, one may (if there is enough road for lift off). I think this new invention is extremely interesting and cool. However, I beleive society is not yet ready to operate such a car. Drunk drivers could smash into an apartment, street racing could happen in the sky with even worse fatal consequences, and it would be almost impossible to stop terrorists with such technology. If there could be a way to monitor the drivers constantly, then this car would be perfect.

Movie Everyone should watch: Tropic Thunder

Simply Hilarious. Tropic Thunder is definitely the best comedy movie I've watched this year, even though it was released a couple of years ago. For starters, its cast is unbeleivable, the leading actors are Robert Downey Junior, Jack Black, and Ben Stiller. As if it wasn't enough, the movie stil counts with the presence of Tom Cruise,Matthew McConaughey, Bill Hader( Officer Slater in SuperBad),Jay Baruchel(Knocked Up),and Brandon T. Jackson( known after movie). Additionally, it just fit, all actors worked perfectly togerther.

Another intresitng thing, is that Ben Stiller directed the movie and wrote the story and screenplay. I admit, I thought he wouldn't make it. But incredibly, he did an excellent job. Well, let me tell you guys about the story. It is basically a joke and critic towards war movies. Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying. So, the actors are playing actors in a war movie, which turns out to become pretty real. I won't say anything else or else it will ruin the movie.

Some intresting facts you oughta know, is that Robert Downey Jr. was nominated for an Oscar in this movie by best supporting actor. He really sends it out of the park. Here is a video o Tom Cruise dancing in the movie( notice he is playing a fat dude).

Family Guy character of the week: Cleveland

Cleveland is an African American in the Family Guy series. They use Cleveland's character as a comical releif to evident daily examples of racism. In the other hand however, Cleveland is one of Peter's best friends and has a very funny voice. He is one of my favorite characters and I beleive many poeple enjoy him because of his inocence and his funny voice. Here is a video showing Cleveland being interupted during his bath by another of Peter's crazy inventions. He is always pacient but in this video he gets kind of angry. These scences were quite a hit in the series. I think its hilarious. Cleveland is sucha great character that there is even a new series with him, "The Cleveland Show." I beleive its going to be great because its from the same producers of Family Guy and it has a hilarious character on it. Lets justw ait and see.

Why Lenny isn't playing??? I don´t know...

Palmeiras is facing a tough time this year.... We couldn't make it to the Libertadores by finishing at 5th place in the 2009 Brasileirão. Consequently, the team's possible reinforcements are no more. If we had qualified to the Libertadores, we would most likely have Valdivia and Kleber by now, which are fantastic players. Not only that, but we also lost players we had like Vagner Love, who is now playing for Flamengo brilliantly. Therefore, our team is currently weak. We are either losing or tying the matches now. The main reason for such a bad start is that we have no reliable offensive player playing.
Who in his right mind would beleive in a team led offensively by Robert and João Arthur!? In other words pathetic. Fortunately, our team still has Lenny. Lenny had a great performance in the 2009 Paulistão. He would've probably had a good performance in the Brasileirão or even the 2009 Libertadores if he hadn't injured him self. He also assisted Palmeiras' squad against São Paulo in the 2008 Paulistão's semi-final. This goal was the first step toward our team's victory. This year we were Champions of the Paulistão.
Before coming to Palmeiras, Lenny played for Fluminesnse where he was considered one of the best. Again injuries delayed his progress but fortunately led him to Palmeiras. Here is a video of a fantastic gol he scores for Flu.
Therefore, Lenny is a future promise for any club. We know he can lead a team in the Paulistão from his past perfromances and he is still 21 years old. If Muricy explores him well we may have a star for the Copa do Brasil and even the Brasileirão. For now, he can assist the team in the Paulistão, Muricy only needs to call him for the matches. I beleive in his talent and have great hopes for him, even the possibility of playing for Brasil in a World Cup one day. Let us just hope he doesn't injure him self as much now.

The Mousetrap Chapel school play

Chapel's newest school play is Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. Its major difference from the last school play is that this one is not a comical one but a thrilling suspense. Thus, the ideal public would be high school students and adults.

The story is about "a homicidal maniac who stalks the snowbound guests of an imposing manor... as a group of strangers gather on an isolated island..." The guests sense peril when a police man arrives in the manor claiming one of them is an assasin. The suspect builds on as victims are made and each and everyone of the guests may be the murderer him/herself.

Since I'm part of the play I strongly reccomend you to come watch it. It will be presented April 20something(sorry I forgot the day). This year I'll be Mrs. Boyle a "large, imposing woman in a very bad temper..." The reason I'm a old lady is beacause I wanted to make Herbert's voice, from Family Guy remember? Well anyways, the voice became an issue because its funny, and the play is supossed to be serious. However, there is still a chance the voice may be used... So, if you wish to watch I guarantee you will have a good time.
